Calling all kids in grades 1 through 8: it's time for our annual writing contest and entries are due TODAY, February 27 by 8pm!

Here’s the beginning to your story: “Last night I had the strangest dream about my favorite book character.” Who is your favorite book character? Dream up an amazing story about him, her, or it! Make it as wild or funny or strange as you want. We can't wait to read it!

The 2016 Art Contest is to design a book jacket for your favorite book! Artwork will be judged for originality, creativity, and interpretation of the book’s theme.

Entries are due in the store before October 7.

Winners in each grade level (one through eight) will receive gift certificates from The Open Door, and all entries will be displayed in the store windows Nov. 12-19.
