Paul O’Brien taught English at Notre Dame and Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons for forty-seven years.

Poetry Reading by Michele Battiste from Waiting for the Wreck to Burn and Barbara Ungar from Save Our Ship.

Michele Battiste is a former New York State resident and Open Door staff member. Her poems have appeared in numerous publications, including the American Poetry Review. A finalist for the National Poetry Series, she has received recognition from the New York Foundation for the Arts and the Center for the American West. She now lives in Colorado.

Barbara Ungar is a professor at the College of Saint Rose who has taught an ongoing poetry workshop at the Schenectady library. She lives in Saratoga Springs. Her books of poetry have won the Snyder Prize and Gival Prize, as well as other awards. Her poems have also appeared in many publications.

Nancy Castaldo will be signing Ada Lovelace.

In 1833, Ada Lovelace met mathematician Charles Babbage, inventor of calculating machines. She became the first computer programmer.

Nancy Castaldo has been writing books for children for over 20 years. Many of her books have received recognitions including the Green Earth Book Award, the Junior Library Guild Selection, and the Smithsonian Notable Book for Children.

Rudy Nydegger will be signing Clocking In: The Psychology of Work.

Rudy Nydegger, PhD, is Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Management at Union College, and the Chief of Psychology at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady N.Y.

Samantha Cotterill will be signing Nope. Never. Not for Me! and This Beach is Loud! (Little Senses Series)

Both books help kids deal with sensory issues, feelings of being overwhelmed or reluctance to try new experiences.
