Pulitzer Prize winning author, William Kennedy, will be reading and discussing his long-awaited, new fictional work, Chango’s Beads and Two-Tone Shoes, set in Cuba in 1957. In this tale of revolutionary intrigue, heroic journalism, crooked politicians, drug-running gangsters, Albany race riots, and the improbable rise of Fidel Castro, American journalist Daniel Quinn, journeys from Cuba’s nightclubs and jungles to the racially charged streets of Albany in 1968. We will also be treated to Mr. Kennedy’s discussion of his body of work in general.
