How does the Wind Blow? – After reading the story Windblown, we will use our imaginations to make objects with shapes the wind might blow our way. With Heather Hutchison (Ages 3-6).

Kids Writing Contest 2013 Entry Due Date

“World Travels:” Pretend you are a stowaway in someone's luggage on a ship or a plane, and you arrive in another country. What country would you visit? What would you see and do? AND how would you get back home?

The 2013 Writing Contest is to write an adventure story, a mystery, a fantasy — and your tale can be serious or humorous — about the country you visit, what you see and do, and how you get back home.

Entries are due in the store before March 1.

Winners in each grade level (one through eight) will receive gift certificates from The Open Door and will be honored at a special celebration party in April.

Kids Art Contest 2012 Due Date

The 2012 Art Contest is to design a book jacket for your favorite book! Artwork will be judged for originality, creativity, and interpretation of the book’s theme.

Entries are due in the store before October 5.

Winners in each grade level (one through eight) will receive gift certificates from The Open Door, and all entries will be displayed in the store windows Nov. 10-17.
