Knowing the Place is a book of poems that reflect moments on the journey that gave the writer pause and allowed him to know the world a little better. The poems range in subject matter from a cat on a lap to autumn in the North Country.

Paul O’Brien taught English at Notre Dame- Bishop Gibbons for over 45 years. He has served as a member of the New York State English Council Executive Board. Currently, he serves on the Mohawk Valley Library Foundation Board and is on the Steering and Curriculum Committee of Union College Academy for Lifelong Learning. He lives in Niskayuna.
