In "Onward," Paul O'Brien looks at those personal experiences that have been illuminating and transforming. He also shares the journeys of eight former students. He concludes with a long poem on what it meant to live during this pandemic time. “Onward we journey even when the road is dark.”
O’Brien taught English at Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons for over 45 years. Since leaving the classroom, he has been an active school board member and spent 17 years as a member the New York State English Council Executive Board. At present, he serves on the Steering and Curriculum Committees of the Union College Academy for Adult Lifelong Learning. He lives in Niskayuna.
